Hot Chamber Die Casting
Hot chamber die casting, also known as gooseneck casting, is a manufacturing process used primarily for casting low-melting-point metals such as zinc, tin, and lead-based alloys. A noteworthy aspect of this process is that the metal is melted and held in a furnace connected to the die casting machine.

Cold Chamber Die Casting
Cold chamber die casting offers several advantages, including the ability to cast high melting point alloys, better control of molten metal temperature, and reduced wear on machine components. However, it generally has longer cycle times compared to hot chamber die casting

Materials for Die Casting
Metals with low melting temperatures, such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium, lead and copper, are commonly used in die casting. However, some ferrous and less common metals can also be used. Some common materials are as follows:
Aluminum
Aluminum die castings offer many advantages, including lightweight construction, high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent machinability, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, design flexibility, cost-effectiveness and recyclability. These properties make aluminum a popular choice for a variety of applications and contribute to its widespread use in die casting processes.
Magnesium
Magnesium’s lightweight nature, high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent machinability, heat dissipation properties, dimensional stability, EMI/RF shielding capabilities, and recyclability make it a valuable material for die casting. Its unique combination of properties opens up opportunities for lightweight and high-performance components in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and consumer goods.
Copper
Traditional die casting processes often avoid the use of copper due to its high and challenging melting point. However, a special variant called copper alloy die casting is designed for casting copper-based alloys. This expertise produces high-quality copper-based components with outstanding corrosion resistance and strength.
Zinc
Zinc die castings offer several advantages, including excellent castability, high strength, corrosion resistance, design flexibility, high production efficiency and recyclability. These properties make zinc a popular choice for a variety of applications, especially those requiring complex shapes, precision and cost-effective production. Including automobiles, electronics, telecommunications, consumer goods, etc.
Die Casting Process Applications
Aluminum extrusion is a critical component in many industries, including automotive, oil and gas, tool and die, aerospace, robotics and medical devices. JINDEE is committed to providing innovative manufacturing solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional quality, precision and efficiency. We provide high-quality parts at competitive costs to customers in various industries.

Die Casting Process FAQs
Die casting involves injecting molten metal into a mold cavity under high pressure. The metal then solidifies and takes on the exact shape of the mold, creating complex and precise finished parts. This process is commonly used to produce top-quality metal parts with superior surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
Die casting can be performed using a variety of materials, including aluminum, zinc, magnesium and copper-based alloys. Aluminum is the most commonly used material in die casting due to its lightweight, high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent thermal conductivity. Zinc alloys are often chosen for their excellent casting properties and cost-effectiveness. For applications requiring specific mechanical or thermal properties, magnesium and copper-based alloys are preferred.
Compared to sand casting, die casting offers greater precision, faster production cycles, and the ability to create complex shapes with tight tolerances, making it the first choice for high-volume production of complex metal parts.
One of the main disadvantages of die casting is the higher initial cost of mold making, making it less suitable for low-volume production or prototyping. Additionally, compared to other casting methods, die casting can have limitations in terms of the part sizes that can be produced and the types of materials that can be used.
Aluminum is commonly used for die casting because it offers several advantages:
Lightweight: Aluminum’s low density makes it ideal for applications where weight reduction is important, such as the automotive and aerospace industries.
Excellent machinability: The aluminum alloy used in die casting is highly machinable and can be easily formed, drilled and finished.
High thermal conductivity: Aluminum has excellent thermal conductivity, allowing for efficient heat dissipation and is suitable for applications involving heat transfer.
Corrosion resistance: Aluminum alloy has good corrosion resistance and is suitable for use in various environments.
High Strength to Weight Ratio: The aluminum alloy used in die casting has a good strength to weight ratio, providing structural integrity and reducing overall weight.
Recyclability: Aluminum is highly recyclable, enabling environmentally friendly production and reducing the need for primary raw materials.
